Steve Conway is one of the most adept and talented pedal steel players around. Originally from Belfast but based in the North West of England, he has a sound that can only be admired. From aged 13, he played in his fathers band performing in working mens clubs, which as anyone would tell you was a real proving ground as far as audiences were concerned.
After settling in the UK, he joined popular country rock band 'Bush Country' in 1977 led by respected singer / songwriter Bob Johnson. He then formed 'Busted Arrow' with Mick Randall, Daz Smith and Pete Morris, before working with guitar virtuosos Eddie Entwistle and Steve Hesketh with Stevie Woods on drums as 'Wolves at the Door'.
Steve went on to extend his experience in Germany in a band with Suzi Quatttros guitar player Paul Green, and also played festivals in Norway and Sweden with 'Buchanan'. He has also added his talents to ex - Steeleye Span / Albion Band guitar player Ken Nicols band. Other respected outfits such as 'West Coast', 'Red Moon Joe', and alongside brother Martin in 'The Conway Brothers band' have also been on Steve's list of credits. 'True North' are honoured to have him guest on some of their material.
